    Aside from using Apple’s own iCloud, you can also use your Google, Outlook, Microsoft Exchange, or other such Internet accounts to store and sync contacts on your iPhone.<\/p>\n

    If you have changed your password for that Internet account or if it has been a long time since you added it, iOS may ask you to verify it again. Usually, when such a need arises, you’ll see a notice in the Settings app or a popup saying something along the lines of \u201cemail not authenticated<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Unfortunately, you can’t restore your contacts if you no longer have access to that account. But if you still have access but just changed the password or see an error, follow these steps to fix it:<\/p>\n

    1. Open iPhone or iPad Settings<\/strong>, tap Apps<\/strong> from the bottom, and select Contacts<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    2. Tap Contacts Accounts<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    3. Tap Gmail<\/strong>, Outlook<\/strong>, Microsoft Exchange<\/strong>, or other accounts you have added and make sure no error messages show up. Even if everything seems fine, turn off the ‘Contacts<\/strong>‘ switch, tap Delete from My iPhone<\/strong> (they are still saved to your online account), and restart your iPhone.       It can also happen that contacts are still saved safely to your iCloud, Google, Microsoft, or other account, but they aren’t syncing or appearing on your iPhone because of some issues.
