Change the clock size

One of the most notable changes you can make to your iOS 26 clock face is to increase its size. Even long-time iPhone users (who aren’t much into customizing their devices) have looked at my iPhone Lock Screen and wondered what sorcery I was doing to get this clock. A few even asked if I had switched to Android! The excitement on their faces is worth noting when I tell them that this is a built-in feature, and even their iPhone can do this.

Start customizing your Lock Screen by touching and holding it. Then, pull down the little arced tab under the clock to make it bigger. If you need detailed instructions or can’t find the tab to change the clock size, our linked tutorial will guide you through everything.

2. Make the clock thicker or thinner

You can easily change the width and appearance of your Lock Screen clock face by making it really thin, extremely thick, or something in the middle.

When you’re customizing the Lock Screen, tap the digital clock and then use the top slider to adjust the thickness.

3. Select a glassy or solid look

iOS 26 introduces a system-wide Liquid Glass effect, which adds a glassy, translucent appearance to sliders, buttons, and other elements, including the Lock Screen clock.

So, instead of having a digital clock text in a solid color, you can opt for the new Glass look. You can even assign a color for the glassy style and adjust its intensity using the slider. Both options are highlighted in the screenshot below.

Note that the rainbow clock appearance is only available in the Solid style, not Glass.

4. Change the clock face style

Similar to previous iOS versions, iOS 26 also allows you to pick a different type of font design for the Lock Screen clock. You have six options to choose from, as shown in the screenshots below. But note that changing the clock size is only possible if you have selected the first style on the left.

5. Use a different typeface for the Lock Screen clock

Instead of staying with the default Arabic, Western font script for your Lock Screen clock, you can pick one of the other 14 options, provided you understand those languages.

When customizing the Lock Screen, tap the clock, followed by the small globe icon, and finally select a script. Once again, this isn’t exclusive to iOS 26, and you can do this on older versions as well.

6. Make parts of the clock hide behind the wallpaper

The final tip to customize your iOS 26 clock face is to make a small portion of the digital clock hide behind the main subject of your Lock Screen wallpaper.

When you’re adding a wallpaper with a discernible subject, adjust the wallpaper (zoom in and out or pan around) or the clock (try changing its size) to ensure a part of it hides behind the wallpaper. If it doesn’t, tap the three dots icon and make sure Depth Effect is ticked. You can also try using a different wallpaper with a clear subject: Fantastic iOS 26 Depth Effect iPhone wallpaper pack

Which of these do you like the most? For me, it’s the giant clock and the glass style.

If you liked the above tips, here are a few more to personalize your iPhone and iPad experience:

18 settings to change and new features to try in iOS 26

7 new ways to customize your iOS 26 Lock Screen

Source link: https://www.idownloadblog.com/2025/11/18/customize-iphone-lock-screen-clock/

Check out these six easy ways to personalize the look of the Lock Screen clock on your iPhone or iPad running iOS 26 or iPadOS 26. 1.
