Once the caller shares their name and reason for their call, your iPhone rings and shares their response so you can decide if you want to pick up. You can also choose to silence calls from unknown callers and send them directly to voicemail.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to the Settings app  on your iPhone.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Tap Apps, then tap Phone.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Choose one of the following:<br \/> \u2022 <em>Never:<\/em> Call Screening is turned off and your iPhone will ring when you receive a call from an unsaved number.<br \/> \u2022 <em>Ask Reason for Calling:<\/em> Calls from unknown numbers will be asked for more information before iPhone rings.<br \/> \u2022 <em>Silence:<\/em> Calls from unsaved numbers will be silenced, sent to voicemail, and appear in the Recents list.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Note: When answering calls, Siri will speak in your iPhone\u2019s default language. See <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/guide\/iphone\/change-the-language-and-region-iphce20717a3\/26\/ios\/26\">Change the language and region on iPhone<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to the Settings app  on your iPhone.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Tap Apps, then tap Phone.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Turn on the following:<br \/> \u2022 <em>Unknown Callers:<\/em> Calls from unknown numbers are removed from your Recents list and sent to the Unknown Callers list.<br \/> \u2022 <em>Spam:<\/em> Calls identified by your carrier as potential spam or fraud are silenced, sent to voicemail, and moved to the Spam list.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>You can mark an unknown caller as known to prevent future calls from being sent to the Unknown Callers list.
