It also <em>kind of<\/em> serves as a location logger to keep a record of where you have been.<span id=\"more-1051119\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Apple says that your Visited Places are end-to-end encrypted, meaning no one except you can read that data. Additionally, Visited Places sync from your iPhone to your other Apple devices via iCloud.<\/p>\n<h2>Supported countries<\/h2>\n<p>As of writing this, the new Visited Places feature is available in beta in just these six countries:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Australia<\/li>\n<li>Canada<\/li>\n<li>Malaysia<\/li>\n<li>Switzerland<\/li>\n<li>United Kingdom<\/li>\n<li>United States<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Turn on Visited Places for Apple Maps<\/h2>\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> Open the <strong>Settings app<\/strong> on your iPhone, tap <strong>Apps<\/strong> from the bottom, and select <strong>Maps<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2)<\/strong> Tap <strong>Location<\/strong> at the top.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3)<\/strong> Make sure Maps is allowed to use your location and turn on <strong>Precise Location<\/strong> if not already. Then, turn on <strong>Visited Places<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1051144\" src=\"https:\/\/media.idownloadblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Turning-Visited-Places-in-iPhone-Maps-app-settings.jpg\" alt=\"Turning on Visited Places in iPhone Maps app settings\" width=\"1664\" height=\"1700\" \/> <\/p>\n<p><strong>4)<\/strong> Return to the first screen of the Settings app and tap <strong>Privacy &amp; Security<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Location Services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5)<\/strong> Ensure <strong>Location Services<\/strong> are on, and then tap <strong>System Services<\/strong> from the bottom of the screen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6)<\/strong> Tap <strong>Significant Locations &amp; Routes<\/strong> and turn it on.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1051142\" src=\"https:\/\/media.idownloadblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Significant-Locations-and-Routes-enabled-in-iPhone-settings.jpg\" alt=\"Significant Locations and Routes enabled in iPhone settings\" width=\"1664\" height=\"1699\" \/> <\/p>\n<p>Moving forward, the Maps app on your iPhone should keep track of places you visit.<\/p>\n<h2>See and manage your Visited Places<\/h2>\n<p>After you have moved around to new locations and spots, check back in the Apple Maps app to see those places.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> Open the iOS 26 <strong>Maps app<\/strong> on your iPhone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2)<\/strong> Tap <strong>Places<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Visited Places<\/strong> from the bottom card. Tap to view them or tap \u201c<strong>All Visits<\/strong>\u201d to see every saved spot in a list view. You can also search for a Visited Place by name, category, address, or notes.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1051153\" src=\"https:\/\/media.idownloadblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Seeing-Visited-Places-iOS-26-Maps-app.jpg\" alt=\"Seeing Visited Places in iOS 26 Maps app\" width=\"1664\" height=\"1700\" \/> <\/p>\n<p><strong>4)<\/strong> Tap the <strong>three dots menu icon<\/strong> next to a Visited Place to take the following actions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Save it to your list of Places.<\/li>\n<li>Share this place with others.<\/li>\n<li>Add a note to help you easily identify this place, and search for it using the added note.<\/li>\n<li>Give a rating for this place.<\/li>\n<li>Fix incorrect details about that Visited Place, if any.<\/li>\n<li>Remove this place if you don&#8217;t want it to appear in your list.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1051154\" src=\"https:\/\/media.idownloadblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Viewing-and-managing-Visited-Place-Apple-Maps.jpg\" alt=\"Viewing and managing Visited Place in Apple Maps\" width=\"1664\" height=\"1700\" \/> <\/p>\n<h2>Set a duration for Visited Places<\/h2>\n<p>You can decide how long the Apple Maps app keeps your list of Visited Places.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> Open the Apple <strong>Maps app<\/strong> and tap <strong>Places<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Visited Places<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2)<\/strong> Tap <strong>Keep Visit<\/strong> from the bottom and select a preferred duration: 3 months, 1 year, or forever.<\/p>\n<p> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1051155\" src=\"https:\/\/media.idownloadblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Duration-for-keeping-Visited-Places-history-iPhone.jpg\" alt=\"Duration for keeping Visited Places history on iPhone\" width=\"1664\" height=\"1703\" \/> <\/p>\n<h2>Delete your Visited Places history<\/h2>\n<p>If you want to clear all your Visited Places history, you can do that from the Maps app.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> Open the iOS 26 <strong>Maps app<\/strong> and tap <strong>Places<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Visited Places<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2)<\/strong> Tap <strong>Clear History<\/strong> from the bottom.<\/p>\n<h2>Turn off the Visited Places feature<\/h2>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t want Apple Maps to keep a log of all the spots you have visited, you can turn off this feature from Settings. Just note that Apple&#8217;s own Significant Locations feature, Google Maps, and other such apps on your iPhone may still remember all the spots you went.
