To get the latest version immediately instead of waiting for automatic updates, open the App Store app on your Apple TV and search for “Netflix,” then select the app in search results and click “Update” on its page.

If you don’t see the option, you already have the update, so fire up the app and check out the revamped interface, unveiled in May. Better late than never, right?

Apple TV finally gets Netflix’s new look

The redesigned interface solves quirky navigation issues. For example, the Search and My List options are now available at the top of the interface, where they’re more noticeable and easier to access instead of being tucked away under the menus on the lefthand side.

As a matter of fact, the sidebar navigation is gone now for good, being replaced with the top navigation bar (like Apple’s TV app) which includes these options: “Search,” “Home,” “Shows,” “Movies,” “Games,” and “My Netflix” (previously “My List”).

The featured program on the home page is now presented in a distinct large card, and each section gets its own large main card with show description, release date and more. Show cards automatically expand when highlighted with the Siri Remote to reveal useful information, including new callouts such as “Emmy Award Winner,” “#1 in TV Shows,” “Recent addition,” “No. 3 in movies,” and some such.

In Netflix’s own words, these labels make personalized recommendations based on your past viewing history “more responsive to your moods and interests in the moment.” The whole interface feels much more like a proper native Apple TV app than something created for generic TV devices. The overhauled Apple TV app requires tvOS 17.0 or later. Netflix is available in the App Store.

The company also continues testing a TikTok-style vertical feed and enhanced search powered by generative AI in the iPhone and iPad versions of the app. Generative AI search is currently available to some beta testers as an opt-in feature, while the vertical feed is being tested with a small subset of users.

Source link: https://www.idownloadblog.com/2025/08/13/netflix-apple-tv-redesign-rolling-out/

Netflix has finally begun rolling out the redesigned Apple TV app that it announced more than two months ago, after all the other TV platforms already got it.
