Additionally, parents can see which topics the teen has turned on in their feed. TikTok says these features are permanently off for teens 13-15 by default and can\u2019t be changed.<\/p>\n<p>Parents can now block specific accounts to prevent their teen from following them. A blocked account cannot interact with the teen; its content vanishes from the teen\u2019s feed, and the profile becomes unavailable to view.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf things change, teens can send their parents a request to unblock the account, but parents make the final decision,\u201d noted TikTok. The feature will initially hit Europe.<\/p>\n<p>If you rely on Apple\u2019s Family Sharing feature and Apple\u2019s Screen Time parental controls to prevent kids from downloading apps like TikTok, you should be aware that there\u2019s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idownloadblog.com\/2025\/05\/19\/apple-family-sharing-screen-time-ask-to-buy-authorization-workaround-restrictions-parental-controls-iphone-ipad-mac-download-apps-ask-to-buy-not-working-properly\/\">workaround that your junior probably knows about<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>New creator tools and community notes<\/h2>\n<p>The new Family Pairing tools were announced today alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.tiktok.com\/en-us\/new-tools-for-creators\">new creator tools<\/a> to block offensive video comments, bulk mute words, phrases and emojis during live broadcast, the ability to check whether a video is likely to be ineligible for the For You feed, a new creator chat room feature and more.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1046740\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1046740\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1046740\" src=\"https:\/\/media.idownloadblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/TikTok-Footnotes.jpg\" alt=\"Three framed iPhone screenshots showcasing TikTok's Footnotes feature.\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Last but not least, <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.tiktok.com\/en-us\/rolling-out-tiktok-footnotes-in-the-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TikTok has introduced the Footnotes<\/a> fact-checking feature akin to X&#8217;s Community Notes. Initially available in the United States only, the feature relies on the collective knowledge of the TikTok community to prevent misinformation, lies and conspiracy theories from spreading on the platform.<\/p>\n<p>TikTok users enrolled in the Footnotes pilot can write and rate footnotes on short videos.
