To update your copy of the app, open the <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/app\/id6446788829\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Apple Sports App Store page<\/a> and click \u201cUpdate.\u201d If you don\u2019t see this option, you already have the latest version.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2025\/05\/19\/apple-sports-app-newsletter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>MacRumors<\/em><\/a> reports that Apple has also launched a new Apple Sports newsletter which you can subscribe to within Apple News to receive a personalized weekday email update on general sports news related to the teams you follow.<\/p>\n<h2>Apple Sports gains a newsletter on Apple News<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cThe stories fans are talking about \u2013 plus, the latest updates on your favorite teams,\u201d reads the newsletter tagline.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1038536\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1038536\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1038536\" src=\"https:\/\/midatlanticconsulting.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/iPhone-News-App-Manage-Newsletters-Apple-Sports.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>To subscribe to it, open the built-in News app on your iPhone and select the \u201cFollowing\u201d tab, then swipe to the bottom of the screen, choose \u201cSign up for Newsletters\u201d and pick your Apple Sports newsletter from there.<\/p>\n<p>Other changes in Apple Sports v2.8 include the ability to follow the Relegation Playoff \u201cto find out who keeps their place in the Bundesliga,\u201d at-a-glance standings on league pages and goal scorers at the top of NHL games.<\/p>\n<h2>How to manage your Apple News newsletters<\/h2>\n<p>To manage the newsletters Apple News sends you, choose \u201cManage Newsletters\u201d at the bottom of the News app\u2019s \u201cFollowing\u201d tab. Apple News currently provides four newsletters, including the weekly \u201cApple News Sports\u201d newsletter, bringing you \u201cthe stories fans are talking about, including the latest updates on your favorite teams.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s also a daily \u201cGood Morning from Apple News\u201d newsletter with \u201ceverything you need to start your day,\u201d a weekly \u201cBest of Apple News+\u201d newsletter that shares \u201cthe week\u2019s most fascinating stories\u201d and a weekly \u201cPopular in Apple News\u201d newsletter providing \u201ca roundup of the week\u2019s most-rated stories.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Apple Sports app made its App Store debut <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idownloadblog.com\/2024\/02\/21\/apple-sports-app-launch-announcement\/\">in February 2024<\/a>, bringing scores, stats, standings and upcoming games for a wide variety of teams and leagues.<\/p>\n<h2>How to use Apple News and Sports in unsupported countries<\/h2>\n<p>Apple Sports is currently available only on the iPhone in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. The built-in News app, released in 2015, is restricted to customers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.<\/p>\n<p>However, you can make the News app appear on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, as well as use the Sports app in an unsupported country with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idownloadblog.com\/2022\/02\/07\/how-to-get-apple-news-in-any-country\/\">regional settings trick<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Just set your device\u2019s regional setting to a supported country in Settings &gt; General &gt; Language &amp; Region &gt; Region and restart. The News icon will appear on the Home Screen of your iPhone and iPad. On a Mac, open the Applications folder and press the Command + Shift + .
