The upcoming Apple TV+ comedy “Acapulco” gets its first trailer
A press release on the Apple website says “Acapulco” was inspired by the film “How to Be a Latin Lover”. Filing as a coming-of-age story, “Acapulco” focuses on Máximo Gallardo, played by Enrique Arrizon, a young man who gets a job as a cabana boy at the “hottest resort in Acapulco.”
But things aren’t as simple as Gallardo hoped.
There will be ten episodes in all for the first season.
Derbez will be playing the Gallardo character in the present day and narrating the show. Arrizon is playing the younger version of the character while the story unfolds in 1984. The rest of the cast is pretty stacked, with Jessica Collins, Chord Overstreet, Vanessa Bauche, Rafael Cebrian, Fernando Carsa and Regina Reynoso filling out the cast.
Here’s the official description of “Acapulco” from the Apple TV+ Press website:
“Acapulco” tells the story of twenty-something Máximo Gallardo (Enrique Arrizon), whose dream comes true when he gets the job of a lifetime as a cabana boy at the hottest resort in Acapulco. He soon realizes the job is far more complicated than he ever imagined and in order to succeed, he must learn to navigate a demanding clientele, a mercurial mentor, and a complicated home life, without losing his way to shortcuts or temptations.
You can stream “Acapulco” through Apple TV+ beginning October 8, 2021.
