Microsoft is bringing Dark Mode support to Outlook for iOS Office for Mac
Software giant Microsoft, which today pushed a major design update to its mobile Outlook app for iPhone and iPad, has officially confirmed that it’s working on a darkened app interface.
While the additions of perks such as a blue navigation bar, swiping improvements, account and people avatars, all-new sensory feedback when navigating the app’s section and other perks will appease productivity and road warriors, normals seem to be hungry for Dark Mode.
Thankfully, Microsoft did confirm they’re working on such a feature.

Miles Fitzgerald, who leads the mobile design for Outlook, told The Verge:
Microsoft is also working on a dark mode for Outlook mobile, and it’s a highly requested feature. That mode won’t debut today, but is something that’ll appear in a future update.
Theme support is already present in Outlook’s web app: the image top of post shows the difference between Outlook.com’s Light and Dark themes.

A few days ago, Microsoft’s product manager Akshay Bakshi confirmed that proper support for macOS Mojave’s Dark Mode is coming to Microsoft Office for Mac.

In fact, it’s available right now to Office Insider beta testers with build 181029.
As you can see from his tweets, enabling Dark Mode in Mojave will tint the entire application in dark shades to a dramatic effect, which is especially useful when working in low light.

This will also solve the current problem where Office’s predominantly white interface becomes jarring when enabling Dark Mode in Mojave.
Microsoft says Office for Mac with Mojave’s Dark Mode support is ”coming soon”.
Outlook for iOS is a free download from App Store.
